Firm News – Year End Wrap Up
2025 has been an exciting year for The Law Office of Mark B Morse.
In addition to being nominated a “Super Lawyer” by his peers, an honor he has received since 2008, Mark was nominated to The Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame; one of only four attorneys in the State inducted into the Hall of Fame. A ceremony honoring the recipients was held on June 3, 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Warwick, RI.
Also, in 2025, Mark was appointed by Rhode Island Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Suttell to serve on the first ever Law Enforcement Officers Due Process and Transparency Act (LEODPATA) hearing panel. LEODPATA was established to replace the previous Law Enforcement arbitration panels that were formed to consider disciplinary charges against police officers. The initial hearing panel which Mark served on will establish a protocol and guide for future hearing panels.
Mark recently underwent re-certification as a Civil Trial Lawyer with the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA). Mark has been certified as a civil trial advocate with the NBTA since 2000, and as a civil pre-trial practice trial advocate since 2012. Re-certifications occur every five years with reassessments each year. The re-certification involves rigorous requirements including the highest professional and ethical standards, recognition by one’s peers and letters of support from the judiciary. Mark is one of only four members in Rhode Island who is certified through NBTA as a civil trial advocate.
Mark was also elected as National Representative for the Rhode Island chapter for the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). At the same time, he was appointed a member of the Rhode Island chapter Executive Board. Mark has been a member of ABOTA since 2024. The group is comprised of civil trial lawyers, with both plaintiff and defense attorneys as members. Each member is required to have been lead counsel in a requisite number of civil jury trials to conclusion. Members represent the highest level of skills in civil trial procedure, and Mark is honored to be considered among its practitioners.
Mark continues to work closely with the Rhode Island Bar Association. As former president of the Bar Association, Mark continues his commitment to the legal profession. He serves as a mentor for young attorneys in the Leadership Academy, and serves on the Annual Meeting Committee, Nominating Committee and Superior Court Bench Bar Committee of which he was also past president.
He also continues his commitment to the American Association for Justice, (AAJ) and the Rhode Island Association for Justice (RIAJ), having served at the highest levels for both groups, as a member of the Executive Committee of AAJ, and as past president and current Board member for RIAJ.
Most importantly, Mark and his dedicated staff continue their commitment to clients and to the community, including legal representation to those injured in automobile accidents and by the negligence of others, those facing domestic issues including divorce and family related matters, those denied insurance benefits including denial of long term disability benefits, and representing businesses or individuals facing commercial and real estate related legal issues.
As we are about to begin a new year, Mark wishes all his clients, friends and family a happy, peaceful, and prosperous holiday season with best wishes for the years ahead.
